CHURRUCA’S OBELISK

CHURRUCA’S OBELISK

The memorial offers panoramic views of the arsenals and the estuary, ideal for enjoying the history and natural beauty of the area.

It was erected in memory of Brigadier Cosme Churruca who died at the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) when he was in charge of the ship San Juan Nepomuceno. Ferrol was the city that hosted the Department to which the sailor belonged.

At the present time, it is located in San Francisco gardens, from where you can see great views of the arsenals and the Ferrol’s estuary.
